Who were Homo Sapiens and Homo Sapiens Sapiens?
Homo Sapiens :
- In the process of evolution Homo Sapiens, meaning 'wise man' appeared during this period of Pleistocene. Homo Sapiens were much improved than the Homo erectus, and lived a family life. Physically they were very close to modern man. The skeleton-remains found at the Neandarthal valley in Germany show that the Neandarthal Man made much progress in the path of civilization. They flourished about 1,00,000 years ago. They knew the use of fire and used skins of animals for clothing.
Homo Sapiens Sapiens :
- Homo Sapiens Sapiens (Anatomically Modern Man) developed around 115,000 years ago. Earliest remains of such people have been found at the Balkans and other places (between 50,000 and 40,000 BC). In Europe Cro-Magnon in France is the place where such remains have been found. Difference races of people found in the world today are the direct descendants of the Cro-Magnon Man who existed about 35,000 years ago. They used to make thin tools of stones that were of much improved quality.
